Additional funds are urgently needed. Providers are already cutting home-delivered meals and closing nutrition sites. The Minnesota Association of Area Agencies on Aging projects that 451,000 fewer meals will be available to older adults in 2026 than in 2025, a loss of service for 6,000 seniors. Additionally, changes to the Senior Nutrition Program statute will improve efficiency in service delivery and provide flexibility for innovation.

I implore you to support HF4538/SF4795 and HF729/SF476. Please share the importance of this legislation as you caucus with your colleagues so we can work together to ensure healthy foods reach older Minnesotans who need them most. Improving the health and wellness of older adults benefits Minnesotans of all ages.
