SENIOR MEALS
Meal providers are being forced to limit services
One in two older adults is at risk for malnutrition. Food insecurity disproportionately affects people with low incomes and from rural communities. Yet, lack of resources is forcing providers to reduce the number of meals they can serve despite growing demand.

TRANSPORTATION
Access to transportation is essential to meeting basic needs
Being able to get to doctors’ appointments, grocery stores and other essential services can be the difference between living independently or needing more expensive institutional care.
SUPPORT SERVICES
Small supports help older adults remain in their homes
Services such as assisted transportation, homemaker support and assistance with outdoor chores provide tremendous relief for older adults as they age in their homes. Small supports reduce expenses for older adults and for our communities.

ENHANCED ADULT PROTECTION SERVICES
Innovative program meets short-term needs for vulnerable adults
WRAPS Resources provides short-term services not otherwise available to vulnerable adults served by county Adult Protective Services. A study of this pilot program will help to determine its value.
Testimonials
What difference does it make?
“I get a meal every day and these meals are the only real homemade meals I eat every day. I get food stamps each month, but with food prices up so high, I can’t afford to buy much each month. They deliver where I live so I can keep being independent in my apartment. Thank you.”
“Your program was very needed after my total right shoulder replacement. I am a caregiver for my 93-year-old husband and was unable to cook meals and help with everyday needs. Without the great meals delivered to our door twice a week it would not have been possible!”
“I am my uncle’s nephew and power of attorney. The Meals on Wheels program has helped him stay in his home and keep his independence. He is 90 years old. This is a program where you can justify tax dollars designated for this. Meals on Wheels makes hot meals available to people who can’t drive anymore.”
“My mom regularly attends senior dining at the Tenborg Center. Knowing that mom is getting a nutritional meal along with the socialization means so much to me. Without a doubt, the meals contribute to her ability to continue to live in her own home.”
“Thank you so much for delivering Meals on Wheels. I don’t think I could stay in my own home alone if I didn’t get them. I have a hard time putting anything in or out of the oven. The meals are delicious.”
